2027 National All Dairy Breeds Youth Camp

Entry Conditions

1. The NZ Milking Shorthorn Association is looking for applicants with a Milking Shorthorn background, who are current members.
2. Applicants must be between 10-21 years’ old to attend the camp, however for applicants between the ages of 10-14 years old, they must be accompanied by an adult/guardian who is over 18 years of age.
3. Applicants are to provide a one-page essay, describing their involvement with the Milking Shorthorn breed and why they believe they would benefit from attending the camp.

Trip Conditions

1. The NZ Milking Shorthorn Association will cover the costs of the camp registration fee only, all other costs including travel, accommodation etc, will be the recipients care.
2. The recipient will be responsible for making their own travel and accommodation (if required) arrangements.
3. The recipient who attends the camp must abide by the rules set by Holstein Friesian NZ who run the camp.
4. The recipient is to be a true ambassador of the NZ Milking Shorthorn breed at all times.
5. The recipient is expected to participate in all aspects of the camp, be well mannered and courteous at all times.
6. The recipient will be required to write an article for the NZ Milking Shorthorn magazine on their experience, by no later than one month after the conclusion of their camp attendance.

Please note: This application is for consideration to have your camp registration fee covered by the NZ Milking Shorthorn Association. It is not a registration for the camp itself. Camp registrations will open separately through Holstein Friesian NZ in October 2026.
